And with that, the Space Shuttle Program is over. There were 135 shuttle missions with 2 ending in disaster with the shuttles destroyed (Challenger and Columbia) and the crew lost. It is still unclear what will succeed the shuttle program or whether NASA will again be able to capture the imagination of the world.
