Has Stuxnet 2 hit Iran's computers?

The Iranian government on Monday said it was targeted by a new computer virus dubbed “Stars.” The report came from the director of Iran’s Passive Defense Organization through the country’s Mehr News Agency. Global media subsequently picked up the story, which has now been covered by the Associated Press, BBC, Reuters and many others.

Stars would be the second malware infestation targeted at Iran within a years time, following the discovery of Stuxnet in July last year. In fact the Iranian military finally confirmed continuing problems with an earlier virus, “Stuxnet,” which began wreaking havoc on Iran’s main uranium enrichment facility in 2009. Stuxnet is believed to have destroyed more than a tenth of the centrifuges Iran uses to make enriched uranium.
